Haggled my way into a jeep across the island to Juara. Parts of the street are so steep vehicle was stationary in its attempted climb.
Spent the afternoon disinfecting my twin snorkelling wounds (although it remains an utter mystery when and how I sustained them), reading Shantaram (the quintessential traveller’s read), and exploring the beach and jungle corners of this sleepy island village.
